De Klimmuur: climbing high, exercising together Climbing is a sport you really do together, and at De Klimmuur in Amsterdam Central, you can get to know it in an accessible way. In one hour, under the guidance of a professional instructor, you’ll learn the basics of belaying and get straight to work on the climbing wall. No experience is needed – just comfortable clothing and a desire for a sporting adventure. The introductory session is suitable for anyone aged 6 and over, and you’ll always take part in pairs, as climbing is, after all, a team sport. You climb, your partner belays, and then you swap roles. For families, there’s a special parent-child session where the adult learns to belay whilst the child can climb to their heart’s content. Fancy taking it further afterwards? Then there’s a basic course available where you can earn an official climbing certificate and come and climb independently. The venue at Amsterdam Central is within walking distance of the station. An original and active day out for friends, couples or families looking to do something completely different.
